My Baby Shower

You guys. Some precious friends and family members threw a shower for us on Saturday and goodness this little guy is already so, so loved. I am literally tearing up typing this! Last week was very “baby-oriented” as we ordered nursery things, planned, and then had a 4D ultrasound at my 30 week appointment. The ultrasound was so clear it was absolutely mind-blowing. I’ll probably hang on to those pictures for now, but just so you know he is already looking like a definite mix of me and John Luke ha…its kind of comical. Throughout the entire day I just kept looking at the pictures and teared up a lot just thinking about him. I know its so known that pregnant women are emotional, but goodness I can’t owe it all to just being hormonal- the gift of a life growing inside of you is an absolute miracle and has got to be one of the most moving things in all of a lifetime! I am so humbled and grateful.

The shower was absolutely beautiful and so sweet. Our dear family friend, Katy, headed it up and had us all over at her house. She prayed over us and our baby and it was the best feeling. Family and friends showered our little guy with lots of love and sweet gifts. Rebecca, my oldest sister-in-law, is SO creative. She had the idea of bringing baby onesies and having everyone decorate them with paint pens. They are precious! My sister flew out right after the shower for her last year of school, and its so weird knowing that the next time I’ll see her we’ll have a baby!

Our house is starting to fill up with baby items and clothes and I’m starting to organize and figure out where things will go. We have a box of diapers from the shower sitting in the living room and every time I catch a glimpse of them it just feels surreal. About two more months and we’ll have a baby!

A quick little note on the dress because I’ve had a lot of people asking about it. It is not maternity, and even being pregnant I still wore an XS in it because it runs large and has plenty of room!
