scarfs and pups

Or a scarf and a pup I guess I should say!

Summer is almost here and anyone in school feels me when I say it is the busiest time of the year! It’s so hard too because you’re just so close to summer but have got the most assignments and projects due, and of course finals. Oh Math 115 can’t way to tell you BYE. Most days lately I wake up, throw on a sweatshirt and shorts or leggings, then sit and do homework for hours upon hours. Yesterday I was like ” I’ve got to put on real clothes.” Anyone else every feel like that haha?

So I thought it’d be fun to do a little #ootd (outfit of the day, for anyone who may not be familiar) post and tell you what I’m wearing and where you can find it:) I don’t know about y’all but I always seem to have the hardest time transitioning from winter to spring/summer. I guess it’s just having to kind of come up with all new outfits and piece things together! But this was super easy to throw on as I was headed out to take my final last night!

This sweater from Free People has been amazing. I got it after I saw my cousin Brighton wearing it and it has been so great. Its light weight and is the perfect sweater for layering! Find it here.

Plain white tee from Forever21. Seriously so great. Not see through and not too tight. In my book it gets an A+. Here.

I just got rid of a ton of jeans because I’ve realized I always go for one of two different kinds. Madewell or Mother. They are my favorites and are the best fit! They’re both a little more expensive, but I’d rather have 1 pair of either of them than 5 pairs of something cheaper! But in Lynchburg we have these things called “J.Crew Warehouse Sales” every now and then where I can buy a pair of Madewell jeans for $10. I actually bought 5 pairs today haha. But these are from there and I’m obsessed with them. Find them here.

Just got the sandals from Madewell, still breaking them in, but so far I love them! Anddddd they are on sale right now. Here.

Hair is up in a bun because it was dirty honestly. But I love lil’ topknots. The best always seem to happen when you pull your hair up for a bath or to wash you face. Thats how this one came to be so I rolled with it. The thing in my hair is a little scarf I found in a consignment store in Colorado last year. I just rolled it up and tied it in my hair. You can do the same thing with any small scarf or bandana. Here’s some that I really like! here, here, and here.

Here is Pippa looking like a wookie…we laughed SO hard at this.

Here is me looking like a some kind of hunched over creature haha.

And here’s my cute lil photog!!!

I was in Italy 2 years ago and went to the Vatican and wanted a necklace so bad but they were so expensive so I held off, then 2 weeks later my mom found this one at T.J. Maxx and it looked just like them haha!

I love this post! I actually love all your posts… But I love that you just decided to do a lil photo sesh and have a bit of fun 🙂
I’d also like to say that my favorite photo, though they are all beautiful <3, may have to be the third to last, just because you can see that you looked at John Luke instead of the lens, and it's super sweet 🙂 That one is just really candid and adorable 🙂
Hope all your finals and homework goes well!! Math is tough but you got this!! (Also to anyone else out there taking finals or finishing up classes you got it too! And I'll say a prayer for y'all!)

Ok madewell jeans for $10??! You’re really making me want to go to liberty for school haha! But the real reason for this comment… What do you do for a leg workout cause your legs are so nice and muscular!

Wow thanks means a lot! Totally been slacking on working out lately because of school. But I try to walk behind my house in the mountains for 30 mins to an hour everyday. When I’m not drowning in school like I have been for the past month, I try to cycle at the gym for 30-45 mins twice a week, and I’ll just do little workouts here and there at my house 🙂

Tell me more about these warehouse sales! I live fairly close to Lynchburg and love to get deals on clothes! (Love this outfit by the way! I feel you on the need to wear real clothes during finals week!)

They’re a bit mysterious haha, like usually I find out the day before they happen and they happen about 4-6 weekends a year! Theres a way to get on the email list and get emails letting you know, but I usually just find out by word of mouth. Really good reason to come to Liberty though! 😉

I love that ring on your thumb! Where did it come from? It is so simple and small!

    • marykate says:

John Luke gave it to me for my birthday while we were dating and after we got engaged I got it resized to fit my thumb!
