First off, WOW it’s been a hot minute since I’ve written a blog post and for all my readers I apologize for that! To be honest we’ve had a lot of life change going on lately and I’ve just needed to take some time to work through it all emotionally and mentally, but also the work of it physically. I’ve also been sick a little here and there, really struggling with my chronic fatigue a couple of these past weeks, and that sometimes gets me feeling down, and when I’m down I tend to close myself off some, and blog or Instagram tends to be the first to go. BUT I’ve been feeling so refreshed and inspired lately, and I’m excited to get back into the groove of things and share what our life has been looking like lately.
So a big change for us right now was our move back to Louisiana and John Luke starting his new job on the ground (I say “on the ground” because he’s actually been working remotely for the past 8 months or so). The move has really been going quite great! I think any kind of change though, good or bad, still takes some adjusting and learning a new normal.
We moved back to Louisiana about a month ago. John Luke’s been working for Camp Ch-Yo-Ca and I’ve been getting us moved into our new house. I assumed the unpacking would take about half the time of the packing, but I totally underestimated that, ha! It’s coming along though! With our move we downsized a bit, so we are having to think through everything that’s staying. I’ll probably have some things up on my Poshmark soon if you want to keep an eye on that.
Definitely a highlight of our move is being back by family. It’s so fun just going next door for dinner at John Luke’s parents’ house or getting to go to my little brother’s birthday party! We’ve only been home with him on his first birthday, so we didn’t take for granted being there for his 5th! My mom’s been coming over once a week to help me move in and decorate and just hang out and its so fun and something I am so grateful can happen now. Another highlight is the weather. It’s getting warmer and the dogs and me have been enjoying going on walks together in the sunshine. Another favorite thing of mine has been cooking again. This past semester of school I was so busy that either John Luke cooked or I’d throw together a super easy meal. I am still for easy meals ha, but its been nice having more time on my hands to cook. I love cooking. The cinnamon rolls below may not have photographed super well, but they were SO good. I changed the recipe up a little for some dietary restrictions for me, but heres a link to the original. I cook a lot off of Pinterest if you want to check out my food board.
I’m really happy to be back guys and really excited for this new chapter in our lives. It was cool to see how the Lord showed so many small, but obvious things, that it was a new season for us and seemed to confirm we are moving in the right direction.
