taking over texas

Well, our week in Texas actually started with a weekend with family in Virginia! They came up to see us, and then we headed back down to the lower south at about the same time. We LOVE when family comes in town, and it was especially fun that we got to celebrate Valentine’s Day together, which consisted of Sunday brunch on our makeshift dining table in the living room.

This picture is for everyone wondering how John Luke landed in the picture I posted on instagram haha!
It was super cold, but Rowdy was ready to get outside and play, so we drove to the “Snowflex”. I mean only at Liberty (literally only at Liberty unless you go to Europe) will you find a snowless mountain you can actually tube down. We seriously go to the coolest university. And with the prettiest view.

Then the next morning we woke up to a winter wonderland.
That meant we were snowed in at the house whoop whoop!

But it also meant both of our flights were canceled Monday and Tuesday morning. So John Luke and I drove 3 hours to catch our connecting flight in Charlotte, while Korie and Rowdy (along with Pippa) headed out of town to another flight too. Everyone made it out though!
John Luke and I headed to Texas for the week (warm weather…YAY!) We traveled with this week-long tour called Ignite and got to speak to teenagers and young adults about our life and faith. We started out in Houston, drove to San Antonio, then flew to Dallas, for a night there and a night in Fort Worth. Despite all the traveling, we did get to squeeze in a trip to the Dallas zoo and eat some good food.

  6. My boyfriend and I are from Houston and we drove to Fort Worth for Ignite because the other days didn't work for us, however, the 4 hour road trip was very worth it! We were inspired!

  7. It was a pleasure seeing JL and you at IGNITE in Dallas. Y'all are the prime example of what positive Godly role models look like. Starting my second semester in college it's encouraging and reassuring to read your blog and see other people continuing to live out their faith and stay true to themselves even though that doesn't seem to be the norm in college. And I absolutely loved the advice you gave at IGNITE and to hear some yours and JL advice about getting married at a young age. Y'all's story is absolutely the sweetest love story and one that I hope my marriage will be like one day. Thanks for coming to Texas and making IGNITE an unforgettable night. Although, my biggest regret of the night was definitely not running up to the stage to ask a question and for a picture. Haha
